🛳️ Great Atmosphere & Food in a Unique Setting! 🛳️

We had such a memorable lunch aboard a beautiful old barge on the Hackney Wick Canal – the vibe was absolutely magical! 🌊☀️ The whole family opted for the roast, and it did not disappoint: tender, flavorful meat, perfectly cooked vegetables, and rich, savory gravy. The red cabbage was a particular standout – sweet, tangy, and delicious! And let’s not forget the giant Yorkshire pudding that came with each plate – truly a showstopper! 🍖🧅 That said, I have to mention one small letdown: the pork crackling could have been crispier. It had great flavor but lacked that perfect crunch. On a brighter note, the focaccia with smoked butter was incredible – soft, aromatic, and utterly moreish! 🧈🍞 We also ordered three small sides, which were tasty, though the melon dish was a bit underwhelming – lacking in freshness and presentation. 🍈😕 When it came to drinks, my husband’s beer felt overpriced for the size, and the wine by the glass also seemed a bit steep. 💸🍷 In a rustic, charming setting like this, I’d hoped for better value on the drinks. Overall, the food felt slightly expensive for what it was – delicious, but not quite matching the price tag in terms of portion and refinement.
