🏔️ Mammoth’s Secretly Stunning Hidden Gem
On the last day of our ski trip, the lift lines were way too long 🎿🚠 Too lazy to join the crowd, we took a local’s recommendation and discovered this absolutely breathtaking spot! Peeking through the stalactite caves at the distant snow-capped mountains and their reflections in the lake ❄️🏞️ We built a mani stone pile with friends With Mammoth’s powerful winds, our wishes are sure to be heard 🌬️✨ I’ve always arrived late at night just to ski and leave Never knew Mammoth had places like this—absolutely stunning! To capture the perfect reflection, you need calm wind… and midday sun can be too harsh with backlighting 🌅📸 Most of these photos were taken around 2 PM—maybe even better when the sun lowers a bit. You’ll need a high-clearance 4x4 vehicle to reach this spot!! 🚙💪 There’s a steep uphill section with a natural cross-axle formation If you don’t drive in, it’s a 3–4 mile hike 🥾 To get down to the lake from the innermost point, you’ll need to walk a dirt trail Short but fairly steep—could be slippery if there’s snow ❄️⚠️ 📍Crowley Lake (overnight camping not allowed inside) Update: If you don’t have an off-road vehicle, park at: Trailhead for Crowley Lake Stone Columns 4x4s can drive to: (37.6075052, -118.7187754) #WinterDestinations #WhereToGoInWinter #WhereMountainsMeetTheSea #MammothSkiing #Outdoors #OutdoorAdventure #HiddenGems #SnowReflections #MountainMagic
