ποΈ OΚ»ahu's Most Satisfying Meal β Hidden Noodle Gem!
Today Iβm sharing the most unexpectedly amazing meal we had in OΚ»ahu β a humble but incredible spot called Chong Qing Cuisine . As a group with one Sichuan native and two Chongqing locals, we were tired of endless poke bowls and ramen, and decided to gamble on this unassuming Chinese noodle shop. And wow β it did not disappoint! π π First Impressions Tiny space β fewer than 10 tables πͺ Wait time: ~30 minutes (but turnover is quick) Parking: Street parking available on a one-way street π No-frills vibe β youβre here for the food, not the ambiance! π₯ Appetizer β Cucumber Salad ππ Pickled cucumbers β lacked the garlic-chili oil kick we expected Skip this and save room for noodles π₯’ π Star of the Show β Twice-Cooked Pork Noodles (, Extra Spicy & Numb) πππππ Wide noodles β perfectly chewy and soaked in flavor Twice-cooked pork β tender, savory, just like back home Mala seasoning β numbing, aromatic, absolutely addictive A must-order β the best noodle dish Iβve had in the U.S. in 6 years! π π₯£ Pea Noodle with Minced Pork , Extra Spicy & Numb) ππππ Thin noodles in a rich, savory broth Soft, mashed yellow peas + tender chunks of pork π₯© Mala-forward and deeply satisfying A Chongqing classic, beautifully executed π² Pickled Mustard Greens & Shredded Pork Rice Noodles πππ Mild, tangy, and comforting Great for those who prefer less spice πΆοΈ Solid choice β but not as memorable as the others π° Price & Final Thoughts ~$15 per person β super affordable! Restroom isβ¦ basic π» (youβve been warned) My Chongqing friends came back the next day β that says it all! If youβre craving real Sichuan-Chongqing flavors, this is your spot. π₯ TL;DR: Donβt let the small space fool you β this place serves some of the most authentic, soul-warming noodles on the island. Run, donβt walk β but maybe use the restroom before you go π #ChongQingCuisine #OahuEats #SichuanFood #HiddenGem #HawaiiNoodles
