🏝️ Oʻahu Food Review (Part 1) – Must-Tries & Honest Thoughts!
Just got back from Hawaii and still dreaming about the food! Here’s my real take on some of the popular spots across the island — from coffee and pastries to poke and local plates ☕️🍣 ☕️ Kona Coffee Purveyors Hot Latte: Beans leaned acidic — not my personal favorite. Black Sesame Kouign Amann: 🖤 Absolutely delicious! Flaky, buttery, with rich sesame flavor. Chocolate Banana Almond Croissant: Pretty good! Pineapple Coconut Almond Croissant: Just okay. 📌 Tip: Go early — this place gets packed! 🍛 Island Vintage Coffee Waikīkī Taro Bagel: 💜 That purple glaze is everything! Loco Moco: Solid and satisfying. Açaí Bowl: Not as good as Goofy’s version. Coffee: Too sweet for my taste — skip if you like your brew balanced. 🍙 Musubi Cafe IYASUME Unagi Avocado Musubi: The star! 🍣 Bacon & Egg Musubi: Also tasty. Poke Bowl: Not great — Foodland’s is way better. 🍚 Waiāhole Poi Factory A true local experience! Ice Cream: So creamy and flavorful 🍦 Mochi: Soft, chewy, and delicious. ⚠️ Watch out for the chickens — they’re bold and will try to share your meal! 🐓 🍤 Ted’s Bakery Garlic Shrimp: Huge, flavorful shrimp — no sauce needed! Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cream Pie: Nutty, not too sweet — a must-try! Pro Move: Mix the shrimp sauce with rice — so good! 🍚 Even the side pasta was a surprise hit! 💡 You can find the pie at Foodland too! 🛒 Foodland Poke Bowl: 🥇 Fresh, flavorful, and you can sample before deciding! Purple Mochi: Chewy and yummy. Mango & Butter Mochi: Just okay. 🍽️ Goofy Cafe & Dine Crab Cake Benedict: 🦀 Delicious — ask to swap the bread for the purple taro version! Açaí Bowl: Topped with super-sweet papaya and strawberries. Mimosa: Refreshing and fizzy! ⏳ Long lines — go early! Popular with locals and tourists alike. 🥢 Kirin Restaurant Beef Chow Fun & Yangzhou Fried Rice: Both flavorful and well-made! Peking Duck: Served two ways — the “duck bun” version was delicious, but the plain meat was dry and bland. Crab: Big and tasty, but not mind-blowing. ☕️ Honolulu Coffee at Moana Surfrider Lattes (Hazelnut, Ube, Regular): All smooth and well-made. Personally preferred this over the hyped Kona coffee — convenient if you’re staying nearby! 🍠 Ali‘i Coffee Co. Taro Ube Latte (unsweetened): Better iced than hot! A subtle, earthy flavor. #OahuEats #HawaiiFoodie #HonoluluCoffee #PokeBowl #TravelAndTaste
