☁️ Oakville is Perfect for a Cloudy Day Getaway!
Just an hour's drive from the city, this charming town feels like a whole different world compared to North York! The peaceful parks, European-inspired town center, and romantic lakeside walks make it ideal for a day trip—or even a date! 💑✨ 🌷 Gairloch Gardens This small but immaculately maintained garden is a hidden gem! When we visited, the air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming roses. 🌹 There’s also a tiny art exhibition inside (very small, but cute!). Perfect for a relaxed stroll—nothing rushed, just pure serenity. ⚓ Lakeside Park We came for the lighthouse—it’s been so long since we’ve seen one, it felt magical! 🏰 The park offers stunning views of downtown Toronto and even the CN Tower from afar. With playgrounds, shaded benches (🌳), and open spaces, it’s great for both kids and adults to unwind. 🏘️ Oakville Town Center The downtown area is compact but full of character! After exploring Lakeside Park, head to the Rainbow Crosswalk, then wander down Canter Lane toward the church. Along the way, you’ll find quirky little shops and cafés. ⛪ (Note: The church is under renovation, so only distant photos for now!) Nearby, don’t miss the graffiti wall—super Instagram-worthy! 📸 🍦 Food & Parking Tips Brunch Warning 🚨: The place we tried was… not good (despite online hype). Skip it! Must-Try: FARMA’s fig ice cream—creamy, unique, and absolutely delicious! 🍦 Parking: Free near Lakeside Park (closer to the lake), but paid on the main streets—check signs carefully!
