🍽️ Salt Lake City SLC | Urban Hill – A Modern Dining Experience
The restaurant boasts an elegant atmosphere – many guests were dressed in suits or chic outfits. Prices are moderate, with appetizers around $10+ and main courses in the $30–$40 range. The open kitchen lets you watch the chefs in action 👨🍳🔥 1️⃣ Steak Tartare The beef tartare was lightly seasoned, paired with a refreshing lemon cream sauce. However, the baguette served with it was overly hard and slightly burnt – not the best texture. 2️⃣ Sablefish Tartare 🌟 If you only order one tartare, choose this one! The sablefish was expertly prepared, enhanced with Calabrian chili and orange segments. Served with slightly sweet lavash crackers – a delicious and balanced bite. 3️⃣ French Onion Soup A classic onion soup with sweet caramelized onions, baguette, and melted cheese. Tasty but became quite salty after a few sips. 4️⃣ Butternut Squash Risotto Made with roasted mushrooms, butternut squash, and Parmesan – a unique and intriguing flavor. However, the final drizzle of lemon juice disrupted the overall balance of the risotto. 5️⃣ Scallops We originally wanted the golden eagle sablefish, but they only had enough for the tartare. The scallops were a great alternative – tender and well-seared, served with roasted potatoes and cauliflower. 6️⃣ Affogato A simple yet satisfying dessert – vanilla ice cream topped with hot espresso, forming a sweet, crispy coffee layer. Loved it! ❤️ ✅ Final Thoughts: The chef clearly aims for creativity, though sometimes too many elements complicate the dishes. As a fine dining spot, the ambiance is lovely, but the food was just decent – not bad, but not unforgettable. It was quite busy, so reservations are recommended! #PrettyPlates #WesternCuisine #FineDining #SaltLakeCity #SLCFood #HiddenGem 🍷✨
