🏛️ Sophie's in Dublin

The service here is really subpar. As soon as we walked in, we saw two waitstaff chatting animatedly, completely ignoring us at the entrance. The ambiance and view are probably the main selling points of this place. The interior features a 270-degree floor-to-ceiling window, which looks really nice on a sunny day. However, my friend and I chose to sit outdoors, where we were completely shaded by greenery. Once seated, anyone under two meters tall wouldn't be able to see a thing😅. It was also in the shade, with a chilly breeze blowing, cooling our coffee in just five minutes. 🕰 In this setting, we waited for a full half hour without our food arriving. Just as I was about to pay the bill and leave, our dishes finally arrived, and they "kindly" turned on the overhead heater for us. So what were you doing before? It felt like we were in a completely different world from the indoor diners, like indoor was a day, and outdoor was an eternity. 🍄 After all this complaining, let's talk about the hard-earned food. Wild Mushroom Risotto 🌟🌟🌟🌟 The cheese was really generous, and there was a good amount of mushrooms. The rice grains were just the right level of firmness, acceptable to Chinese tastes. It was just a bit salty, and the portion was so large that it became a bit cloying towards the end. Beef Burger 🌟🌟 It was just okay, nothing wrong but not particularly delicious either. Mac & Cheese 🌟🌟🌟🌟 It's filled with pasta and a lethal amount of cheese, a combination that can't be bad, right? Every bite was full of calories (in every sense). 🧀 So did this restaurant spend all its time grating cheese? Without this frustrating service, I might consider going again for the rooftop view, but I really don't want to experience this kind of service again😅.
