☕️ Toronto’s Newest Aesthetic Coffee Shop Is Here!

When (Chinese trendy style) coffee shops arrive in Toronto… the competition is officially ON! As a long-time coffee explorer, I’ve noticed a major shift in the city’s coffee scene recently: 🍵 Japanese/Korean cafes have plateaued — few new ideas. ☕️ Local spots still embrace that North American “casual big brand” vibe — which honestly fits the laid-back coffee culture here. 🇺🇦 A few Ukrainian-run cafes bring a lovely European sensibility. But the biggest surprise? Over the past year, some of the coolest, most stylish specialty coffee shops have been opened by Chinese entrepreneurs. The rise is real! 👏 Today I visited the newest trendy spot at College & Ossington: 📍 Three Dots Coffee Lab 865 College St, Toronto The young owner is super passionate — he’s created a minimalist space truly made for coffee lovers. There are five pour-over options. You can smell the beans in the order shown in the photo — some aromas burst out, others are subtle (maybe older beans?). We ordered #1 and #2 from the menu. Both are high in acidity, but #2 is a bit sweeter. #1 has a slightly bitter aftertaste. They use beans from Hatch — consistently good. A fun feature: each pour-over comes with two cups with different opening sizes. The barista said you can taste different notes through each. We tried hard… but couldn’t tell a huge difference 😅 Still, it’s a fun immersive experience — give it a try! Special drink: 15 Mins Before Showtime 🌽 Such a fancy name — turns out it’s a popcorn-caramel corn latte! Tasty, but honestly feels (and prices) like an homage to Brick Room. A bit expensive though. Also tried the Matcha Latte with Jasmine 🍵 Really liked this one! The two teas blend harmoniously — the jasmine even overshadows the matcha at times. #TorontoCoffee #DesignerCafe #COTD #CoffeeLover #TorontoCafes
