◼️ Venice Sculpture Garden | Carlo Scarpa
◼️ Carlo Scarpa ◼️ Venezia, Italia, 1951-1952 ◼️ In 1952, Carlo Scarpa designed the Sculpture Garden on the terrace of the Italian Pavilion for the Venice Biennale, which was originally designed by Duilio Torres in 1932. ◼️ The garden features enchanting light and shadow play as well as water features💦. Three heavy elliptical columns support the roof, which is shaped like a rectangle with three circles subtracted from it. Sculptures are placed on the edge of the concrete roof, where the sharp Italian sun draws the most definitive lines to describe the shapes it encounters (Scarpa's own beautiful columns showcase this perfectly)❗️ #ArchitecturalDesign #Architecture #ArchitecturalStudies #BuildingMaterials #Materials #Decor #InstallationArt #ContemporaryArt #Venice #Italy #VeniceBiennale #ArchitecturalPhotography #Scarpa #PritzkerArchitecturePrize #DesignerZhaoDanDaniel #PuShiArchitecturalSpace #DesignStudyTour #CheckInWithDesigners
