🏞️ Zion National Park: Overrated? Honest Review & Tips
🌟 Overall Rating: 7/10 (6 + 1 for hiking) It’s a decent park but doesn’t live up to its hype. Parking is a nightmare, scenery lacks uniqueness, and the only highlights are Angels Landing and The Narrows. Skip Zion if you’re not into hiking! 🌄 Recommended Attractions: 1️⃣ The Narrows 🏞️💦 Famous water hike—wade upstream through a canyon. Rent gear or use your own (water shoes + poles recommended—rocks are slippery!). Water depth: Chest-high at one spot, mostly knee/thigh level. Note: Scenery doesn’t change much, and few finish the full route. 2️⃣ Canyon Overlook Trail 👀 Short hike with stunning canyon views. Go in the morning—limited parking + afternoon backlighting ruins photos! 3️⃣ Angels Landing 🧗♂️ Requires a permit lottery. Not for those afraid of heights! ❌ 4️⃣ Other Stops 🚌 Big Bend, Court of the Patriarchs (shuttle accessible). Zion-Mount Carmel Highway (drive yourself, multiple pull-offs). ⚠️ Tips & Warnings: 1️⃣ Parking: Extremely difficult! Arrive before 8 AM even on weekdays. If the visitor center is full, try spots near shuttle stops 2/3 or roadside parking. 2️⃣ Route Planning: Most valley attractions require shuttles (early start needed). Canyon Overlook Trail is drive-only but best in morning light. Only solution: Catch sunrise at Canyon Overlook, then rush to park at the visitor center. 3️⃣ Hiking Temps: May water temps are manageable. Afternoon hikes may be warmer! #ZionNationalPark #Utah #TravelTips #Overrated #HikingAdventures
