For artist-made items, head to Santa Fe. For stones and locally crafted art, Albuquerque’s Old Town is your go-to. One shop in particular is a must-visit—more on that below! 🎨 Santa Fe Everything in photos 1–3 is made by local artists. I visited during the Labor Day Market 🎪 and bought a beautiful shadow box from one artist and a cyanotype painting from another. The grandma artist was super sweet and loved sharing stories—we took our time choosing, and she was incredibly patient. 🧓💙 🏞️ Bandelier National Park The souvenir game here is strong! I couldn’t stop buying—postcards, stickers, even tokens! 🎫✉️ After shopping, you can stamp your National Parks passport right outside. A full and fun experience! 🏜️ White Sands National Park Not as many shopping options, but I found a lovely ornament—each one is slightly unique, maybe hand-painted! Brought one home as a memory. 🌵🎄 🛍️ ABQ (Albuquerque) I never expected a layover city to be so fun! Old Town is perfect for a relaxed day of exploring. ⭐ Highly recommend starting at Romero Street Gallery The curation here is thoughtful, and the prices are surprisingly fair! I bought two small stones elsewhere for $75, but here I found beautifully detailed keychains for $40 🔑💎—yes please! They also feature handmade silver bracelets and necklaces by local artists. The staff—mostly sweet grandmas—will eagerly show you cool stuff like interchangeable bead rings and explain each stone’s origin. Top marks for selection, price, and vibe! 👵💍 🏺 Another great spot near the Old Town entrance is a pottery shop. The owner noticed we were coughing and offered us free water—so kind! We rushed back before closing to buy a unique pot. This artist’s work isn’t sold elsewhere—truly special. Other shops might look a bit rustic or flashy, but each has something unique: postcards, magnets, little treasures.
