It was one of the favorite holiday resorts for seven generations of Hohenzollern rulers, who redesigned the independent rooms with luxurious interior decorations multiple times, while transforming parts of the garden into a royal grandeur. Today, the changes in the tastes of many residents of the palace and the requirements for ceremonies and private use can be traced from the Baroque period to the early 20th century. After suffering severe damage during World War II, the palace has been largely reconstructed and renovated. This former summer residence is now one of the most important attractions in the German capital. The palace offers interiors and halls, with arrangements faithful to the originals, impressive suites, and an outstanding art collection of masterpieces. The Porcelain Cabinet, the Palace Church, and Frederick I's bedroom are among the highlights of the grand Baroque parade apartments of the Old Palace, which was built in 1700 with a coronation tower. The central structure of this large palace complex was commissioned by the intelligent and art-loving Queen Sophia Charlotte and her husband, Frederick I. #Berlin #Germany #GermanLife #GermanAttractions #Palace #GoodPlaceToGo #CharlottenburgPalace
