𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭🌊 A Rhode Island Restaurant Where I Found Pearls 💍

Seafood lovers 🦪🦞—do NOT sleep on Newport, Rhode Island! I only stayed for two days and only visited two restaurants 🍴, but they were so amazing that they totally healed the pain of writing two papers in two days 😮‍💨. Nearly all restaurants here are by the harbor. Here’s what we ate: 🦞 The Mooring Seafood Kitchen and Bar 🥧 Reservation Tip: We booked a few days in advance, and the only available slot was 1:30 PM—it’s that popular 🔥! At most restaurants, you can get seated early if you arrive ahead of time, but here we had to wait until after our reservation time… If you don’t have a reservation, though, you can sit at the bar—no big issue there. Appetizers: We ordered the tuna rice, which was basically like poke—but it was not good 👎. Skip it! Oysters: There were only 4 oyster varieties. They weren’t fishy, but they weren’t anything special either—kind of like how Zhen Huan felt when she saw Wen Shichu after gaining the emperor’s favor (meh, no real spark) 😐. Main Course: Lobster is a Must!If it’s your first time here, order lobster—you won’t regret it! We tried two preparations: Baked Lobster: Crispy, like the “ (Cantonese-style crispy garlic) flavor—super satisfying to eat. It came with large shrimp and dried scallops on the side, which was a fun mix of Chinese and Western styles 🦐. Steamed Lobster 💯: My absolute recommendation! Perfect for anyone who loves seafood’s original flavor—my fellow people from Guangdong and Guangxi will know exactly what I mean 🥹. When I cracked open the lobster head and saw the oozing roe? That “redemption feeling” speaks for itself 🤤. The meat was firm and bouncy, and paired with the cheese 🧀 sesame oil dipping sauce plus a squeeze of lemon 🍋, it had a salty-savory taste with a hint of tartness—so many layers of flavor! Eating a whole one made me feel totally full and content 🤤. Desserts: Berry 🫐🍓 Crisp: Fruity sweetness mixed with buttery aroma and a crunchy crust 🫓… It was so good that I immediately searched for where to get it in Philadelphia! Crème Brûlée: Just okay—way too sweet. Not impressive, in my opinion. 🦪 Midtown Oyster Bar This second spot was my lucky place 🩵! Seating: We walked in on a Sunday afternoon, and there were plenty of empty tables—no wait at all! Pro tip: Call ahead to confirm availability before you go ☎️. Oysters: You order oysters by variety, and each one costs around $3.5. We tried almost every type, and the “401” variety was by far the best—sweet and fresh the second you bite into it 🦪. Main Courses: Scallop, Ham & Squid Pasta 🍝: Delicious, with generous portions of each ingredient—super hearty. Creamy White Wine Stewed Mussels with French Fries 🐚: Also amazing! The mussels were cooked perfectly in the creamy wine sauce, and the fries were a great side. Lucky Surprise 💍: I found 5 tiny pearls in the mussels! It was my first time ever getting lucky like that—I was over the moon! Rhode Island is definitely my lucky place ✨. #LifeIsJustAnExperience #InternationalStudentFoodie #RhodeIsland #RhodeIslandEats #Newport #FoundPearlsInAShell #NorthAmericanLife #NewportFood #HiddenGemRestaurants #RestaurantRecommendations
