🇦🇹 Austria | 2-Day Vienna City Walk Itinerary
Many say Vienna is boring, but I ended up loving it—I adore the city’s laid-back vibe. Sunbathing on the grass is pure bliss, and listening to records and music on a rainy day has its own charm 🎵💕 📝 Itinerary Day 1: Imperial Treasury → Sisi Museum → Graben Street (shops close early, go sooner if you want to shop) → St. Stephen's Cathedral → Grüne Brücke ( filming location of Before Sunrise) → St. Peter's Catholic Church → Café Central Day 2: Belvedere Palace (Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss) → Before Sunrise Record Store (get a mystery vinyl + tote bag) → Kunsthistorisches Museum → Hofburg Palace → Albertina Museum (terrace offers a great view of the Opera House) → Vienna State Opera (no shows in July/August) → Golden Hall (mostly "watered-down" performances in summer) → St. Charles Church (buy a concert ticket to get inside access) 🚌 Transportation Most attractions in Vienna are within walking distance—use Google Maps to navigate. For longer distances, public transport is convenient. Use the OBB Tickets app to purchase single tickets or 24h/48h/72h passes. 🏠 Accommodation Prize by Radisson, Vienna City Great value for money! We stayed near the central train station for easy access and lower prices. It’s also within walking distance to Belvedere Palace. 💡 Tips: 1️⃣ Schönbrunn Palace is quite far—skip it if short on time. 2️⃣ Vienna is clean, artsy, and elegant with tons to explore. Two days still felt a bit rushed! 3️⃣ The Vienna State Opera has no performances in July/August. The Golden Hall often hosts lower-quality ensembles during summer—consider cheaper but lovely concerts at St. Stephen’s Cathedral or St. Charles Church (check concert-vienna.info). 4️⃣ Highly recommend the Before Sunrise record store—a paradise for music lovers. Don’t forget to test-listen records for free! 5️⃣ Use Bolt for taxis, but it’s expensive—not recommended. 6️⃣ If taking trains, double-check the station—Vienna has multiple train stations. #Austria #Vienna #UrbanExploration #EuropeTravel #ViennaTravel #CityWaysToPlay #OffbeatTravel #BeforeSunrise
