π¦πΉ Salzburg & Schafberg Travel Guide
π Getting from ΔeskΓ½ Krumlov to Salzburg: Book the earliest Flixbus π β it stops at Salzburg South Station. From there, take a bus to the city center. Self-service ticket machines sell adult tickets for β¬4 (card accepted!). β±οΈ Salzburg Itinerary: 1οΈβ£ Mirabell Gardens πΈ β A must-visit! We caught a live performance by a youth orchestra in the afternoon β absolutely delightful π΅! 2οΈβ£ Mozart Residence π» β Tickets are required but rarely checked. Our group of six shared two tickets (wink π). 3οΈβ£ Schafberg ποΈ β Next morning, take Bus 150 from the central station to St. Gilgen π. Buy a one-way boat ticket (under 100 RMB) β΄οΈ. St. Gilgen is worth exploring too! Return by bus (cheaper option). From the dock, buy tickets for the historic Schafberg Railway π β a 100-year-old cogwheel train. Round trip: ~400 RMB πΈ. β οΈ Check return train schedules carefully! The view from the top is nice (overlooking several lakes ποΈ), but the Austrian Lake District is a premium vacation zone β hotels here are super expensive during peak season! β CafΓ© Tomaselli π: We arrived at 4:30 PM β packed during tea time βπ§. They close at 6 PM, so limited cake options. We tried a coffee and a cherry pie β delicious! π¨ Accommodation: Peak summer = hotel prices skyrocket π (Β₯1500+ per night). We settled for a budget hotel further from the center. π Final thoughts: Salzburg deserves more time β€οΈ. The Lake District? Overrated and overpriced π«€. #OffTheBeatenPath #TravelTheWorld #Salzburg #LakeDistrict #Schafberg #BudgetTravelTips π¦πΉβ¨
