Day 3🇦🇹 A Stroll Through Salzburg in Late Autumn🍂

On the morning of the third day, we took a train from Munich to Salzburg. Before setting off, we bought an extra-large baguette sandwich—crunchy on the outside and generously filled—which surprisingly lasted me for two breakfasts! 🥖 During the two-hour ride through the countryside, the distant Alps and a fairytale-like town gradually came into view—this was Salzburg. 🏔️✨ Stay: Arte Hotel Salzburg The hotel’s location was perfect, just a five-minute walk from the train station. The floor-to-ceiling window in our room overlooked the train tracks, Hohensalzburg Fortress, and the snow-capped mountains in the distance . We arrived early, stored our luggage, and began a delightful day of exploration. With a city pass, we could easily visit all of Salzburg’s attractions by taking the bus near the hotel. 🚌🎫 Mirabell Gardens (Mirabellgarten) The flower beds were neatly trimmed, and the colorful blossoms looked especially charming in the morning light. The fountain’s spray shimmered under the sun, and the familiar melody of The Sound of Music seemed to echo in the air. Standing in the center of the garden, we looked up to see Hohensalzburg Fortress towering above, overlooking the entire city. 🌸⛲ Mozart’s Birthplace (Mozart Geburtshaus) Walking along the cobblestone streets of the Old Town, we arrived at Mozart’s Birthplace. The warm, vibrant yellow building seemed to tell the legendary story of the musical prodigy. Inside, sheet music, letters, and antique instruments transported us back to the 18th century, allowing us to experience the budding of Mozart’s musical genius. 🎵📜 Salzburg Cathedral (Salzburger Dom) Continuing our stroll through the Old Town, we reached Salzburg Cathedral.✨ Its white façade glowed under the sunlight, and the interior’s vast space and exquisite murals were breathtaking. The baptismal font stood quietly, as if still recounting the history of Mozart’s baptism here. Standing in this place, imagining little Mozart beginning his short yet glorious life under the holy water’s blessing, made one marvel at the wonder of fate and talent. 🎻💒 Hohensalzburg Fortress In the afternoon, we took the funicular up to Hohensalzburg Fortress.😁 The ancient high walls narrated Salzburg’s history, and the view from the fortress was stunning: the Alps and the Salzach River complemented each other, while red roofs and church spires dotted the city like a delicate oil painting. So beautiful! 🏰🌄 After a day of sightseeing, we found a restaurant in the Old Town and ordered fried chicken, schnitzel, and an apple strudel. The portions were huge! The apple strudel (Apfelstrudel) was especially delicious—sweet but not overly so, leaving a deep impression. 🍗🍎🥧 Salzburg perfectly blends nature and culture, offering a unique elegance. Though our visit was short, it was enough to make me fall in love with this fairytale-like town. If given the chance, I will definitely return to Salzburg to discover more of its hidden beauty. 💖 #SlowTravel #MyDreamCity #OffTheBeatenPath #RomanticDestinations #MovieLocations #Salzburg #Austria 🇦🇹
