🇦🇹 Salzburg → Königssee Transportation Guide 🚌⛰️

During my year-end trip to Austria, I visited Salzburg and explored the nearby lake region with friends. Here’s a simple transportation guide for a day trip to Königssee! 🚌 Round-trip Transportation 📝 Bus Line: 840 🎫 Bus Fare: €8/person/one way (cash only) 🎫 Boat Ticket: Round trip to the church (St. Bartholomä): €22.8/person Round trip to Milchsee (Obersee): €29/person ✨ From Platform J at Salzburg Central Station (Hauptbahnhof), take Bus 840 directly to Königssee. While many guides mention a transfer, my ride was direct! 🎫 Buy tickets directly from the driver. Buses run hourly. 📅 Weekday first departure: 6:35 AM | Weekend first departure: 8:10 AM ⏰ Last return bus: 18:56 (both days) 🚍 The journey takes about 1 hour. A major stop—Berchtesgaden Hbf—allows transfers to other attractions like the Eagle’s Nest. ✨ After arriving, follow the crowd 🚶‍♀️ for a 10-minute walk to the dock and ticket office. ⛴️ In winter, boats only go as far as the iconic onion-domed church (35-minute ride). 🎺 During the trip, the crew stops at Echo Valley to play a trumpet demonstration (tips accepted voluntarily). 📸 For the best views, sit on the right side of the boat on the way to the church! ⚠️ Be sure to coordinate bus and boat schedules carefully—missing one could mean long waits! #Königssee #SalzburgTravel #Austria #DayTrip #TravelTips #LakeViews 🚢🌲📸
