🇦🇹 Salzburg One-Day Budget Travel Guide

Hey girls! Just got back from Salzburg and honestly, it’s like a mini-Vienna 💖—plus it has the BEST mountain spring water in Europe! Let’s start with the damage: 👛 Total cost per person: under €100/day 💧 Fun historical fact: Salzburg’s tap water comes directly from the Alps! 🏔️ The main source is Mount Untersberg. Since the 15th century, archbishops sent “water knights” on horseback to fetch water daily. Now the whole city drinks this—no wonder it tastes amazing! Drinking Alpine water straight from the tap in Europe? Pure joy! Back to travel tips—the whole city feels like a Mozart-themed park 😂. You’ll see Mozart merch everywhere, even Mozart-brand chocolates! 🍫 🚂 Train from Vienna: 2.5 hours | €25 per person 🌟 Must-Visit Attractions: 📍 Schloss Mirabell 15-min walk from the station! A filming location for The Sound of Music 🎶. I even saw a group of seniors singing Do-Re-Mi in the garden—so cute! The Baroque garden is incredibly photogenic, full of blooming flowers 🌸. 📍 Dom zu Salzburg (€5 per person) Where Mozart was baptized! The all-white interior is breathtaking 😍, and the dome carvings are incredibly detailed. There’s a concert daily from 12-1 PM—visit outside that time if you prefer a quiet experience. 📍 Festung Hohensalzburg (€13.6 per person) One of Europe’s largest medieval castles! 🏰 The view from the top overlooks the whole city. Take the FestungsBahn funicular (€14.5 round trip) to save energy. Don’t miss the viewing platform behind the fortress! You’ll see all of Salzburg with layered mountains in the distance—like a condensed version of Vienna 🏙️⛰️. 📍 Lunch at Stieglkeller This restaurant is perfectly located on the way up to the fortress. The terrace offers a stunning view of the Old Town 🍽️. Stiegl Brewery was founded in 1492 🍺 and is one of Austria’s most popular beer brands. The name “Stiegl” means “little staircase,” referring to steps near the original brewery. Even Mozart was a fan! We ordered beef goulash and crispy roasted pork 🥘, with drinks for only €25 per person. So worth it! Sipping 500-year-old beer while overlooking Salzburg—what an experience! #Salzburg #AustriaTravel #EuropeTravel #SoundOfMusic #Mozart #ViennaDayTrip #HiddenGems #BudgetTravel 💶✨
