🇦🇺 4D3N in Cairns – Why Isn't Anyone Recommending These Spots?!
Just got back from an epic Easter trip to Cairns – sharing some underrated but amazing places! Day 1: City Exploration Landed at 6 AM ✈️, hotel let us check in early – nice! ❌ Lunch at The Chambers: Average food, okay ambiance. ✔️ Cairns Art Gallery: FREE entry! 🎨 Loved the Indigenous-inspired ceramic exhibition (Ground Floor) and Clarice Beckett’s 20th-century Australian paintings (Level 3). Got a cute map-themed fridge magnet as a souvenir! ✔️ Rusty’s Market: My mom’s favorite! 🍍 Rare fruits like rambutan, yellow dragon fruit – so vibrant! 〰️ Cairns Aquarium: Skip if you’re snorkeling later 🦈. $50+ per person vs. $100 for real reef tours. ✔️ Night Market: Yummy skewers, churros, and MUST-TRY mango-coconut drink 🥥 (opposite Vietnamese pho stall). Day 2: Kuranda Rainforest Day ✔️ Skyrail Rainforest Cableway: Round trip by cable car 🚡. Rain in AM, sun in PM – both moods were magical! Two stops: Barron Falls (meh 😕) Rainforest Walk (so fun!). ✔️ Army Duck Tour: Amphibious vehicle deep into the rainforest! 🌿 Some cute-but-deadly plants 😅. ⚠️ Note: The rainforest park isn’t in Kuranda village! Shuttle from Butterfly Sanctuary (10-min walk from Kuranda Station) required. Missed our slot but staff kindly rescheduled us! Day 3: Great Barrier Reef Snorkeling Chose Sunlover Reef Cruises – no extra planning needed! 🤿🐠 (Detailed in another post). Day 4: Botanic Gardens + Palm Cove ✔️✔️✔️ Botanic Gardens: FREE and incredible! 🌴 Felt like walking through a tropical fairy tale. Go early for photos and cooler temps. ✔️✔️✔️ Palm Cove: Australia’s Hawaii! 🌊 Sunny days = paradise. Stroll along the beach to Nunu Restaurant (palm tree heaven 🌴). Chilled vibe + cute shops – friends loved my pics! Flew back to Perth that night – perfect wrap to a short holiday! 🧳 #CairnsTravel #CairnsGuide #AustraliaTravel #UnderratedSpots #TravelTips
