🇦🇺 5 Days 4 Nights in Cairns – Ultimate Fun Guide! 🌊

I was torn between Cairns and the Whitsundays, but ended up choosing Cairns… partly because I lost a tooth in the Great Barrier Reef as a kid and needed to go back to find it (just kidding 😂). Here’s my relaxed but absolutely awesome 5D4N Cairns itinerary! Day 1: ❣️ Landed at 10 AM, took a taxi to the hotel to drop luggage, then hopped on a bus to Palm Cove 🚌🍃 (Buses run only once an hour – check timetables!). Stopped at Rusty’s Market first – a cute tropical market with fresh fruit 🥥 – had a fresh coconut! Reached Palm Cove ~1 hour later – so beautiful and super photogenic! 📸 Day 2: Reef Magic Outer Reef Tour 🚢 Booked online – any reef tour is great tbh! Snorkeling & diving were unreal 🤿✨ Includes wetsuit, gear + lunch (which was actually tasty despite bad reviews!) Guys in our group freaked out during intro dive – only went 1-2m deep 😅 But we girls powered through – made it all the way down! 💪 No turtles though 😢 Pro tip: No camera allowed without dive cert, but there’s an underwater photographer. Photo package: $75 pp / $105 for two. Single pics: $20 each. Day 3: Barron River Rafting 🚣 Couldn’t book Tully (sold out 5 days ahead!), so tried Barron – and it was fun! Better than expected despite mixed reviews online. I fell in and floated for 5 mins 🆘 got saved just in time (they say there are crocs 🐊… yikes!) Day 4: Mission Beach Skydiving 🪂 $379 pp + $169 for photo/video Free shuttle picked us up early, returned 7 PM I was first to jump! 😎 Mindset tip: Don’t be scared – you paid for this! Life’s not a rehearsal 💃 I loved it – my boyfriend was terrified but watched his jump video 100x after 😂 He says: “Never diving again… but definitely skydiving again!” Day 5: Slept in 🛌 (thanks to late-night drinks with friends) Missed the Cairns Art Gallery 😴 Friends went to CT to cuddle koalas 🐨 – zoo is small (koalas + snakes mostly) Flew out in the afternoon ✈️ Final Thoughts: Cairns = SO MUCH FUN! Already planning next trip 🥰 Next time: Staying in Port Douglas + sailing with Quicksilver + definitely booking Tully Rafting!
