๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ Darwin Travel Recap โ€“ Day 1

We arrived at our hotel early in the morning. We stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton ๐Ÿจ, which was overall pretty good โ€“ clean, well-equipped, and with friendly service. There are plenty of other nice-looking accommodation options around too. After a good night's rest, we headed out around 3 PM โฐ. Darwin is still in the dry season, and the sun is strong โ˜€๏ธ โ€“ sunscreen is a must! Our hotel was near the ocean, so we took a relaxing stroll around the area with lovely views ๐ŸŒŠ. Darwinโ€™s city center is very small โ€“ it only takes about 10+ minutes to walk to the CBD ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ. The so-called CBD basically has a Coles, Chemist Warehouse, and some small shops. Thereโ€™s also a nice pedestrian street called The Mall ๐Ÿ›๏ธ, with stores selling souvenirs, clothing, and accessories. Crocosaurus Cove ๐ŸŠ is also within walking distance. We encountered some local Indigenous people who occasionally ask for money โ€“ a simple โ€œsorryโ€ and walking away is fine. No need to give anything. At sunset, we went to the Waterfront area ๐ŸŒ‡ and watched the sun go down. Thereโ€™s an Asian restaurant called Chow ๐Ÿœ โ€“ we tried their pho and pad thai, and both were absolutely delicious! ๐Ÿ˜‹ At night, we rode electric scooters ๐Ÿ›ด back to the hotel. It was more expensive than Uber, but we wanted to try it. Felt a bit risky but still fun! Overall, Darwin gave me a relaxed and easy-going vibe โ€“ though it also feels a little underdeveloped. #StudyInAustralia #Travel #LifeInAustralia #Darwin
