Only in the NT 🙌🏼 SAVE this for 5 incredible experiences to add to your bucket list! 1. Watch the sun rise over Darwin city from the water front on jetskis! We had never ridden on jet skis before and it was AWESOME. We may or may not have looked for a couple on Facebook markets after that morning 😂 2. Go on a helicopter pub crawl (yes, that’s a real thing!) Our adrenaline is still pumping from this experience, it was absolutely insane. The views are incredible and how often can you say “yeah we’re just going to land the heli on the beach for a beer” 🤯. 3. Take cruise on the Adelaide River for a jumping crocodile tour. This tour is not only a great experience but a really good reminder of why you should respect the danger signs in NT waterways… they are AGILE! 😬🐊 4. Visit Kakadu National Park. We’ve already shared how special we think this place is but there are a range of walks, lookouts and a couple of waterfalls to check out, along with Aboriginal rock art dating back to 20,000 years old! 5. Watch the sun set over Darwin on a luxury catamaran cruise, enjoying free flowing champagne and canapés… yep it was a bit tough to go back to the troopy and tinned food after that one, not going to lie 😅🤣 We’re going to miss you @ntaustralia, we will be back! Have you ever done any of these experiences? We would love to know! • • • • #ntaustralia #seeaustralia #travellife #travelbucketlist #bucketlist #australiatravel #travelaustralia #travelcouple #seekdiscomfort #livetotravel #travelexperience #experiencelife #travelblog #darwin #northernterritory #traveljournal #traveldiary #topend @saildarwin @kakadutourism @00sevenadventures @city_of_darwin

I am originally from Melbourne, so my experience may be different to those of who are locals. There are so many things to do and see, such as enjoy a swim or bake out at the wave pool (which by the way is only $8 for entry!!) Or to enjoy some gelato after a date night at one of the restaurants along the waterfront. There is a free exercise strip (with bicycles) that is installed on the grass just by the wave pool and controlled/man made beach. As well as many opportunities to take a tour around Darwin CBD with the electrical scooters (which are powered by the app called Neuron Mobility, which is found on Google Play and Apple store) that are parked along the waterfront. There is also a range of different tracks you can walk along, and other activities that you can get involved in, such as the inflatable playground, mini golf and ride on the ferris wheel!! I urge you to come here! Look out for the sun though, and be sure to lather on sunscreen to enjoy the full experience of the waterfront. Most importantly, have fun and soak in the beauty of the aqua blue water whether this is on a boat or admiring from the pier!

Well it was a hot one when I walked down to the waterfront precinct, and particularly headed for the lagoon. Why? Because the old trouble and strife wanted to. So, saving my sanity, I did just that. Great place full of families and singles all cooling down in a sea water lagoon. Now, there's some fish, some jellyfish (perhaps stingers if you're unlucky) but no crocs - unless it's the shoe version you're referring to. I didn't want to pay the $8 entry to the wave pool, but it looked great. I preferred to spend it in the pub. The pub markets itself as craft beer specialist - well I drink enough to warrant a beard and felt hat, and it's not a craft beer joint. Don't hold it against The Precinct, nice pub, good selection of bevvies and nice cool shady environment. There's plenty of restaurants, but did not go to any at this time. I'm told, by locals just be mindful walking around late in the evening. Not sure of what but if Mitchell Street is any example, it's an interesting place.

What an absolutely fabulous area for people to come together and relax, have fun, eat and enjoy life ! This area is fantastic for all ages, it is well planned and laid out, with a wave pool, natural lagoon pool, half side basketball courts, table tennis tables, playground for the kiddos, beach volleyball, loads of restaurants and eateries, clean bathrooms and change rooms and loads of beach lounges, tables and chairs to enjoy and use for free (other than a small fee to enter the wave pool). It is great to see so many families - both local and tourists, out and about - all day every day, enjoying the sunshine and salt water in the amazing city !

Nice and quaint waterfront with a selection of cafes, restaurants, and shops. Clean facilities are available around the area, and it seems to be a central point for small festivals and community activities. There is a taxi, bus, and rideshare drop-off and pick-up area. It felt safe walking around during the day and evening. Most places do close early, so I recommend looking up timings of any shops, restaurants, or cafes in advance. Some restaurants get very busy at night, and it may help to make reservations if they allow it. Had some tasty barramunda at one of the restaurants out on the pier! It's a great place for sunsets as well.
