🇦🇺 Geelong Day Trip Guide (Dog-Friendly & Car-Free! 🐾)

Caught the last bit of mid-semester break to explore Geelong—Victoria’s second-largest city—with my pup! 🐶 Scenic, relaxed, and dog-approved! Here’s the paw-fect itinerary: 🚆 Transportation: ✨ No ferry for us—only guide dogs are allowed on the Docklands ferry. 🚄 V/Line train from Southern Cross to Geelong Station (~1hr, every 20 mins). Just tap your Myki! Easy! 💡 Pro tip: Dogs need a muzzle + carrier (we forgot the crate, but got lucky with nice staff 😅). Better safe than sorry! 🍽️ Lunch at Sailor’s Rest (Dog-Friendly! 🐕❤️) 📍 3 Moorabool St, Geelong 🕛 Walked in at 12:30pm (10-min wait). Staff adored our pup! Must-try: 🍝 Fettuccine Marinara – Star dish! Loaded with fresh seafood 🦐🐚 🍔 Beef Burger – Huge patty + crispy fries 🍟 (doggo eyed them 👀) 🍟 Bowl of Chips – Addictively crunchy! 🚶♀️ Dog-Friendly Sightseeing: 1️⃣ Cunningham Pier – Iconic arches 📸 (great start for a stroll!). 2️⃣ Eastern Beach – 5-min walk. Ferris wheel + insta-worthy views! 🌊 3️⃣ Geelong Waterfront Fountain – 17-min walk. Lush lawns for picnics—we napped here with pup for 30 mins 🥰 Pure bliss! Skipped Gallery/Botanic Gardens (dog restrictions), but still a full, chill day! 🚄 Headed back to Melbourne by 5pm – Zero exhaustion, max happiness! 🐾 Perfect for lazy humans + energetic pups! #MelbourneLife #DogFriendlyTravel #GeelongAdventures #PawsAndExplore #StudyBreakVibes #NoCarNoProblem
