🇦🇺 My Favorite Day Trip in Cairns: Fitzroy Island

During my trip to Cairns, I tried several tours, but the one to Fitzroy Island was definitely my favorite! 💙 Here’s why I loved it: 🚢 The island is relatively close to the mainland – only about 45-50 minutes by ferry. Sunlover’s boat is large and stable ⛴️, so it felt quick and comfortable (great for family members who get seasick!). 🏝️ Nudey Beach is absolutely stunning! The water near the shore is shallow with some rocky areas 🪸, and between those rocks are tons of colorful fish 🐠 – perfect for snorkeling right by the beach! The snorkeling experience is fantastic not only at Nudey Beach but around the whole island. 🌿 The walking trail to Nudey Beach goes through pristine rainforest – very wild and natural. It gives you a little taste of the Daintree Rainforest vibe 🌴, and it’s shaded most of the way ☀️➡️🌳. I visited Daintree the day before, and honestly, if you don’t have time for the big rainforest, Fitzroy’s mini-version offers a similar feel! 🍹 Amenities on the island are convenient – easy to grab food and drinks 🥤🍔. ⏰ The schedule is relaxed – no super early start, and you’re back by dinner time feeling happily tired and wanting more 😊. 🔁 Sunlover’s service was great, but other companies offer similar trips to Fitzroy – so you can compare! 🌅 The view back at the Cairns marina after returning was just beautiful – a perfect ending to the day 🌇.
