π¦πΊ Townsville Airport & Hostel Experience π§³ποΈ
Just flew from Melbourne to Townsville for my regional work β sharing some tips for fellow WHV friends! 1οΈβ£ Airport Transport After landing, I originally planned to take the bus π (only $0.50 per ride! β pay with coins/card or get a daily ticket for $1). But my luggage was too heavy πΌ, and it was a 10+ minute walk to the bus stopβ¦ so I ended up taking a 13 CABS taxi from the airport. π Note: Uber & DiDi are hard to get here. The cab was fancy but expensive β $30 for a 10-minute ride! The meter was ticking like a heartbeat in my temple ππ 2οΈβ£ Better Option β Shuttle Bus! I recommend booking the Townsville Airport Shuttle π instead! Only ~$10 per person (cheaper for groups) Drops you right at your hostel Book online or call 3 hours in advance β or even last-minute! π Google: βTownsville airport shuttleβ 3οΈβ£ Civic Guest House Backpackers Hostel Great location, spacious rooms Stayed in a 4-bed dorm β quiet, with a big fridge βοΈ Good option if you plan to stay longer! 4οΈβ£ Flinders St. Backpackers (Female Only) No front desk β code access after 2 PM π No early check-in π Cons: No elevator π₯ β only steep stairs (I had to carry my luggage up 3 floorsβ¦ pure workout πͺ) 8-bed dorms face a noisy street ποΈ β light sleepers beware! π Pros: Very clean and smells nice π§Όβ¨ Huge empty fridge β great if you cook π³ Weekly stays are $5 cheaper per night β book on their website π» Hope this helps someone!
