πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί Townsville Airport & Hostel Experience 🧳🏝️

Just flew from Melbourne to Townsville for my regional work – sharing some tips for fellow WHV friends! 1️⃣ Airport Transport After landing, I originally planned to take the bus 🚌 (only $0.50 per ride! – pay with coins/card or get a daily ticket for $1). But my luggage was too heavy πŸ’Ό, and it was a 10+ minute walk to the bus stop… so I ended up taking a 13 CABS taxi from the airport. πŸš– Note: Uber & DiDi are hard to get here. The cab was fancy but expensive – $30 for a 10-minute ride! The meter was ticking like a heartbeat in my temple πŸ’”πŸ˜… 2️⃣ Better Option – Shuttle Bus! I recommend booking the Townsville Airport Shuttle 🚐 instead! Only ~$10 per person (cheaper for groups) Drops you right at your hostel Book online or call 3 hours in advance – or even last-minute! πŸ” Google: β€œTownsville airport shuttle” 3️⃣ Civic Guest House Backpackers Hostel Great location, spacious rooms Stayed in a 4-bed dorm – quiet, with a big fridge ❄️ Good option if you plan to stay longer! 4️⃣ Flinders St. Backpackers (Female Only) No front desk – code access after 2 PM πŸ”‘ No early check-in πŸ‘Ž Cons: No elevator πŸ˜₯ – only steep stairs (I had to carry my luggage up 3 floors… pure workout πŸ’ͺ) 8-bed dorms face a noisy street 🏍️ – light sleepers beware! πŸ‘ Pros: Very clean and smells nice 🧼✨ Huge empty fridge – great if you cook 🍳 Weekly stays are $5 cheaper per night – book on their website πŸ’» Hope this helps someone!
