šŸ‡¦šŸ‡ŗ Ultimate Melbourne Guide | Must-See 8-Day Free & Easy Itineraryā€¼ļø

It’s been almost two months since I returned from Melbourne, and I’ve finally sorted everything out for you all. Since two of my days were spent on flights, strictly speaking, it was a 6/7-day trip. The total cost was SGD 1.7k. Disclaimer: I’m not a professional travel planner, so take this as a reference. āœˆļøšŸØ About Flights & Hotels: I’m not too picky—flights just need to get me to Melbourne, and hotels just need to be decent for sleeping—so I went for budget-friendly options. I flew with AirAsia (KL-MEL) for SGD 476/pax roundtrip. Though my back was sore from the flight, it was okay overall. For accommodation, I stayed at Ibis Melbourne Hotel and Apartments—simple, comfortable, and in a fantastic location. Many attractions were within walking distance, and there were trams nearby. For six nights, splitting among three people came to SGD 236/pax. ā˜Žļø About SIM Card: I bought mine at the airport. After exiting Arrival Hall, walk straight, turn right, and you’ll find several shops selling SIM cards. I chose Optus (90GB for AUD 30). The network was solid, even in suburban areas. I arrived around 11 pm, and the shops were still open, but I’m not sure about their closing hours—you can check yourself. šŸ—ŗļø About Itinerary & Attractions: I’ve listed all the details clearly. Though I didn’t strictly follow the plan, I managed to visit all the spots. Feel free to adjust it to your liking. Every place was stunning, and the food was amazing. 🌊 About Day Trips: Most people say the Great Ocean Road and the Puffing Billy Steam Train + Penguin Parade are must-dos—and I agree! Since I wasn’t familiar with the area, I booked these tours online. The Great Ocean Road day trip cost SGD 103/pax, and the Puffing Billy + Penguin Island day trip was SGD 190/pax. Highly recommend both—breathtaking coastal views, an unforgettable steam train ride, and adorable penguins! Pro tip: Don’t schedule these back-to-back; space them out for a more relaxed experience. āš ļø Important Notes: ✨ Before the trip, my total expenses for flights, hotels, and day tours added up to around SGD 1k. Other costs, including souvenirs, meals (split with friends), and miscellaneous spending, came to less than SGD 700. (Since the AUD and SGD exchange rates are similar, I treated them as equal.) If you’re not a big spender, you can save even more. ✨ I mostly used my credit card for payments. I brought some cash, but 90% of transactions were card-based. I used YouTrip—great exchange rates, highly recommend bringing this card. ✨ Melbourne is such a chill city in my opinion. Take your time and soak in the vibe. #RecordTheMoment #Melbourne #MelbourneTravel #MelbourneFood #MelbourneTourism #MelbourneTravelGuide #GreatOceanRoad #TravelDiaries #AustraliaTravel
