Can’t believe my one-month business trip is almost over—just a few days left before flying back! ✈️ Campinas has been my home base whenever I’m not traveling, and here’s why: 1️⃣ Local colleagues nearby (super handy for work!) 2️⃣ Easy access to São Paulo—when desperate, I’d splurge on a R$200+ Uber (1.5-hour ride). FYI: Foreigners can’t take Brazilian buses 😤 (ugh, the R$50 option would’ve been nice!). 3️⃣ Safe & lively—unlike SP, where I’d be stuck in a hotel, Campinas has everything: malls, cafés, bars… I kept myself VERY entertained 🤭 My Favorite Hangouts in Campinas 1️⃣ Grainne’s Pub 📍 *R. Padre Almeida, 170 - Cambuí* A cozy Irish pub I stumbled upon by accident! 🍻 The live bands here are amazing—they cover 80s/90s international classics (perfect for this foreigner!). The vibe is electric, though packed like sardines—just embrace the Brazilian energy and dance! 💃 Pro tip: Went 3x in one week (no regrets… except the next-day leg soreness 😅). 2️⃣ Boteco São Bento Cambuí 📍 *R. Dr. Emílio Ribas, 619 - Cambuí* Spacious, trendy, and great for groups! 🎶 The music leans electronic, the chopp (draft beer) is top-notch, and Sundays = buy-one-get-one drinks! 🍺👯♂️ Ideal for friends, coworkers, or even family gatherings. Bonus: Plenty of eye candy here too. 😉 3️⃣ Banana Café (Today’s Happy Discovery!) 📍 *R. Gen. Osório, 2090 - Cambuí* DING DING DING—jackpot! 🎉 First visit, and everything was chef’s kiss: Drink: Tried the "Amante" (aka "Lover" 💘)—a sweet, frothy mix of lemon juice, raspberry syrup, gin (hidden too well!), and egg-white foam. Insta-worthy! 📸 Food: A toasty open-faced sandwich with ham/mushroom versions. The ham one stole my heart—melty cheese under the ham, subtle but perfection. 🧀🔥 Final thoughts: Campinas = work + play done right.
