š§š· A Day in Campinas: My Go-To Spots Before Heading Home
Canāt believe my one-month business trip is almost overājust a few days left before flying back! āļø Campinas has been my home base whenever Iām not traveling, and hereās why: 1ļøā£ Local colleagues nearby (super handy for work!) 2ļøā£ Easy access to SĆ£o Pauloāwhen desperate, Iād splurge on a R$200+ Uber (1.5-hour ride). FYI: Foreigners canāt take Brazilian buses š¤ (ugh, the R$50 option wouldāve been nice!). 3ļøā£ Safe & livelyāunlike SP, where Iād be stuck in a hotel, Campinas has everything: malls, cafĆ©s, bars⦠I kept myself VERY entertained š¤ My Favorite Hangouts in Campinas 1ļøā£ Grainneās Pub š *R. Padre Almeida, 170 - CambuĆ* A cozy Irish pub I stumbled upon by accident! š» The live bands here are amazingāthey cover 80s/90s international classics (perfect for this foreigner!). The vibe is electric, though packed like sardinesājust embrace the Brazilian energy and dance! š Pro tip: Went 3x in one week (no regrets⦠except the next-day leg soreness š ). 2ļøā£ Boteco SĆ£o Bento CambuĆ š *R. Dr. EmĆlio Ribas, 619 - CambuĆ* Spacious, trendy, and great for groups! š¶ The music leans electronic, the chopp (draft beer) is top-notch, and Sundays = buy-one-get-one drinks! šŗšÆāļø Ideal for friends, coworkers, or even family gatherings. Bonus: Plenty of eye candy here too. š 3ļøā£ Banana CafĆ© (Todayās Happy Discovery!) š *R. Gen. Osório, 2090 - CambuĆ* DING DING DINGājackpot! š First visit, and everything was chefās kiss: Drink: Tried the "Amante" (aka "Lover" š)āa sweet, frothy mix of lemon juice, raspberry syrup, gin (hidden too well!), and egg-white foam. Insta-worthy! šø Food: A toasty open-faced sandwich with ham/mushroom versions. The ham one stole my heartāmelty cheese under the ham, subtle but perfection. š§š„ Final thoughts: Campinas = work + play done right. Counting down to home, but definitely coming back! ā¤ļø #CampinasLife #BrazilDiaries #FoodieFinds #Nightlife #TravelTips #BarHopping #HiddenGems #WorkTripVibes
