🇨🇦 | Victoria Day Trip in Early October
As autumn colors deepened in Vancouver, we avoided the long weekend crowds, slipped into my boyfriend’s cozy sweater, and embarked on our dream trip to Victoria! 🍂✨ 🛳️ BC Ferries Booked the 8 AM ferry from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay online a day in advance. Caught the 620 bus at Bridgeport at 6:53 AM, enjoying the sunrise glow along the way 🌅. Arrived at the port at 7:35 AM – perfect timing for photos and boarding! The 1.5-hour ride was comfortable with dining areas, charging stations, and study zones. The top deck offered stunning ocean views and sea breezes – never a dull moment! 🚌 After disembarking, we bought a $5 cash Day Pass on the bus for unlimited city travel! 1️⃣ The Butchart Gardens Took Bus 72 → transferred to Bus 75. Arrived at 11:00 AM (1-hour ride). Spent 1.5 hours exploring themed gardens. The Japanese Garden was our favorite – serene and exquisite, embodying Eastern aesthetics 🌸. 2️⃣ Red Fish Blue Fish Hungry after the gardens, we skipped Hartley Castle and took Bus 75 to downtown’s famous fish & chips spot. No queue at 2 PM! 🐟 Ordered the popular BC Halibut, Wild Salmon Tacones, and Chowder – all delicious! 3️⃣ BC Legislative Assembly Walked from the pier to the parliament building. Free entry on weekdays with guided tours at fixed times. We explored independently and took photos – finished in 40 minutes! 🏛️ 4️⃣ Chinatown Visited Canada’s oldest Chinatown. Explored Fan Tan Alley (narrowest street) and the Chinese Canadian Museum, learning about early immigrants’ struggles and triumphs. 5️⃣ Munro’s Books One of the world’s top 10 most beautiful bookstores! Filled with literary charm 📚. Bought a discounted illustrated book instead of fancy notebooks. Skipped Glass Beach due to time constraints. Instead, wandered nearby streets, sipped coffee, and tried rice noodles at Little Yunnan (just okay). At sunset, returned to the parliament building for golden hour photos and harbor views 🌇. Caught Bus 72 nearby at 6:55 PM to Swartz Bay (arrived 8:10 PM) for the 9 PM return ferry. 🌟 On the return trip, we witnessed a massive Aurora Borealis outbreak – a magical Northern Lights experience from the sea! 🌌 #VictoriaBC #VictoriaDayTrip #TravelGuide #ExploreCanada #VancouverIsland 🍁📸
