🇨🇦 Le Crocodile Under New Leadership - Still a Vancouver Classic!

Finally made it to Le Crocodile, Vancouver's legendary French restaurant that continues to shine under new head chef Rob Feenie (since early last year)! Here's our tasting journey: 🍽️ Our Menu Selection: • 2 Appetizers • 1 Soup • 2 Main Courses 🌟 Standout Dishes: 🐸 Roasted Frog Legs - The star of our evening! Aromatic garlic notes paired with tender frog legs, spinach purée, and brioche crumbs created absolute magic. 🥩 Steak Tartare - Pro tip: Eat it with their complimentary toasted bread! The crunch + velvety beef = perfect texture play. 🍲 The Good & The Salty: 🍅 Tomato & Gin Soup - A tad salty for my taste, but the cheesy breadsticks were divine. 🍄 Grilled Veal Medallions - Cooked perfectly well-done yet remained tender, with an intense morel mushroom sauce reminiscent of cream of mushroom soup. 🌿 Herb Crusted Lamb Saddle - Beautiful medium-rare doneness with a sweet-savory pumpkin/beet/mint sauce (though sauces overall leaned salty). 💫 The Vibe: Witnessed the sweetest anniversary couple nearby - clearly regulars who get greeted by both the chef and manager! That "homecoming" warmth is what makes this place special. 🥖 Silver Lining: The poached vegetables served with mains provided much-needed freshness amid the rich flavors. 🍷 Wine Pairing Pro Tip: Their sommelier selections never disappoint - we enjoyed a beautiful Burgundy that cut through the richness perfectly. Hey food lovers! Who else has visited since the chef change?
