🇨🇦 Stelvio Toronto - A Taste of Milan in the Heart of Little Italy

After my Italian food awakening in NYC, I've been on a mission to find equally amazing Italian restaurants back in Toronto. While avoiding the obvious tourist spots, I stumbled upon this hidden gem in Little Italy - Stelvio Toronto - which surprisingly originates from Milan itself! 🇮🇹 🥩 Starters That Wow 🧀 Tagliere Misto This impressive charcuterie board is a flawless start to any meal! The generous portions feature two types of cured ham (I preferred the leaner, larger slices), paired with creamy cheese and sweet onion compote that's perfectly balanced - not too acidic, just right! 🤤 🍖 Mondeghili These Milanese-style meatballs are surprisingly different from what I expected - dense and firm (likely bread-free), with a slightly dry texture that's more hearty than juicy。 While not my personal favorite, the accompanying sauce and spinach provide a refreshing contrast that saves the dish! 🥬 🍝 Pasta Perfection 🧀 Pizzoccheri ABSOLUTELY the star of the meal! This buckwheat pasta dish is chef's kiss - chewy texture, triple cheese sauce, and creamy mashed potatoes create unbelievable richness。 The crispy cabbage bits add the perfect crunch! 🧀💯 🐷 Orecchia di Elefante This giant fried pork cutlet is as massive as its name suggests - too big for a cutting board! Surprisingly not greasy at all, with a crispy exterior and simple salt seasoning。 The accompanying mayo-based sauce is unexpectedly delicious! 🐖😋 🍰 Dessert Dilemma ☕ Tiramisu Classic and flawless - thick cocoa powder, creamy mascarpone, and coffee-soaked ladyfingers make this the perfect tiramisu。 No complaints here! ☕️💖 🍰 Torta Sabbiosa While the server highly recommended this "very Italian, very special" dessert, it's not for everyone。 The unexpected scone-like texture (despite being described as "soft") pairs with raspberry jam and yogurt mousse for a refreshingly light finish。 💁 Exceptional Service The staff's attentiveness truly elevated our dining experience - frequently checking in and even packing up our leftovers with care! 🤗 📍 Location: Stelvio Toronto (Little Italy) ⏰ Reservations recommended - this place gets busy! #TorontoItalianFood #MilanInToronto #HiddenGemTO #PastaLovers #DinnerDateIdeas #FoodieHeaven #StelvioToronto
