Calling all udon enthusiasts! ๐Ÿ™Œ This spot is an absolute must-try for fellow noodle fanatics. Prepare for your carb cravings to DOUBLE because these bowls are seriously addictive! ๐Ÿ  โ€‹โ€‹Mikaku Udon Barโ€‹โ€‹ 229 Carlton St., Toronto, ON M5A 2L2 (street parking available) We tried their three most popular udon dishes: 1๏ธโƒฃ โ€‹โ€‹Chicken Curry Udon ($21)โ€‹โ€‹ Japanese-style sweet curry with creamy richness ๐Ÿ› The chicken cutlet was lean (maybe too lean?) but not overly breaded Delicious but heavy - best shared with friends! 2๏ธโƒฃ โ€‹โ€‹Spicy Seafood Cream Udon ($22)โ€‹โ€‹ Prawns, mussels + comes with toast for dipping! ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿž Actually has some real heat (rare for "spicy" dishes here) Perfect for those who love bold, rich flavors 3๏ธโƒฃ โ€‹โ€‹Maze Udon ($18)โ€‹โ€‹ Ground pork with sweet soy sauce + raw egg ๐Ÿฅš Comes with rice for "double carb" action Looks better on Instagram than it tastes tbh โ€‹โ€‹Surprise winner:โ€‹โ€‹ The curry udon! We kept going back for "just one more bite" in between the other dishes. That creamy curry sauce is dangerously good! ๐Ÿคค ๐Ÿข โ€‹โ€‹Snack Report:โ€‹โ€‹ Calamari + wasabi mayo = ๐Ÿ‘ Beef tartare (supposedly "Toronto's best") = ๐Ÿ‘Ž (small portion + weird aftertaste) ๐Ÿ’ฐ About $45 per person Pro tip: Go for the DRY udon - that sauce-coated, creamy noodle experience is what dreams are made of!
