🇨🇦 Vancouver's Modern Korean Eats | NUI

First impression? This place is TINY! 😳 I was genuinely shocked at how they managed to fit a full kitchen, bar, and so many tables into such a compact space. The tables are practically touching—zero privacy here! The menu is equally minimalist, just a small sheet, which kinda adds to its quirky charm. Here’s what we ordered: 🥚 TOFU EGG JJIM Steamed egg with tofu—simple but satisfying. A nice warm start! 🦐 SEAFOOD JEON Not your average Korean seafood pancake! This one had an ultra-thin, crispy crust packed with loads of chives and shrimp. A tasty twist on the classic. 🐟 VINEGARED MACKEREL A whole mackerel, beautifully plated. At first, the fish alone tasted a bit fishy and salty, with an awkward in-between texture (not quite raw, not quite cooked). But then—game changer—we wrapped it in seaweed with ginger, wasabi, and veggie sauce. Suddenly, it felt like eating high-end sushi! 🍣✨ 🍲 GOMTANG Soup with rice and pork. The broth was light and fragrant (not too salty), though the rice was just okay. The pork slices, though? Tender and delicious. Final thoughts? Based on pics, I expected a fancy (and expensive) vibe, but our meal with tip came to $90—pretty reasonable! The only downside? The space is so cramped it’s hard to relax. Pro tip: Street parking nearby is easy to find. What’s your take? Would you brave the tight quarters for that mackerel? Or are you all about that seafood pancake? Let me know below! 👇 #Vancouver #VancouverLife #VancouverEats #KoreanFood #FoodieAdventure #HiddenGems
