🇨🇦 Vancouver Italian Dining | Osteria Elio Volpe
Spent the weekend morning at my kid’s 🏌️ golf summer camp—you might wonder what a little one learns there? Answer: Soaking up Vancouver’s summer sun for that sweet vitamin D (and mostly just vibing with the atmosphere 😆). Meanwhile, mom enjoyed a leisurely brunch upstairs, perfectly timed to pick up the little golfer afterward. Dinner plans took an unexpected turn when we accidentally booked June on Cambie but ended up at Basement’s Lala Bar instead—no regrets though, because it led us to Osteria Elio Volpe next door! We started with two appetizers: Lingcod chips + caviar – A bit on the salty side, with rich, bold flavors. Side stripe shrimp carpaccio – Absolutely chef’s kiss 👌. The shrimp was sliced paper-thin, paired with just the right amount of cracker crunch. A must-order summer dish, especially with a crisp white wine! We also devoured a watermelon salad 🍉 (no photo evidence—it disappeared too fast!). For pasta, we tried: 10-year cheddar roasted jalapeño rigatoni (white sauce) – Creamy, cheesy, with a little kick! Dungeness crab pasta – Also a solid choice. The steak, however, was just… meh. Now, as someone who always orders tiramisu at Italian restaurants, I went for their "tiramisu" cheesecake—but surprise! The chocolate cake stole the show 🍫✨. All four of us voted it the winner. Highly recommend! What about you? Are you team tiramisu or do you also have a dark horse dessert favorite?
