🇨🇦 Westbound Adventure: Toronto's Charming Countryside Getaway
Just returned from our perfect summer road trip from Toronto to the countryside! Here's our must-visit route for a relaxing weekend escape: Route: Toronto → Mountainoak Cheese → St.Jacobs Farmer's Market → Stratford (aka "Shakespeare Town") → 2-hour drive back to Toronto Fun fact: The photos are in reverse order! [wink] 🎭 Stratford - More Than Just Shakespeare While most come for the world-class theater, we opted for a leisurely town stroll (time constraints + little one's short attention span!)。 💎 Avon River Surprises: Stumbled upon Arts in the Park - local artists just as talented as big-name creators! The Mother Earth quilt (5 years in the making!) was priceless - the artist refused to sell unless offered "a crazy amount" [lol] Discovered a new theater with a garden entrance - perfect photo spot! Kid-approved: Quirky artsy shops that captured our child's heart [heart eyes] 🍴 St.Jacobs Farmer's Market - Foodie Heaven The main event was definitely the food! 🍩 Apple Fritters - Worth every minute of the line! 🥙 Turkish Kebabs - Juicy and flavorful 🛒 Fresh produce - Picked up veggies and fruits for the drive home 🧀 Mountainoak Cheese - Dutch Delights Located halfway between St.Jacobs and Stratford (30-min drive), this Dutch immigrant-owned gem specializes in Gouda cheese! ✨ Must-know: Visits require reservation (only Saturdays!) Sampled before buying - smart move! Purchased: 2 cheese wheels, ice cream, and creamy sour cream [drooling] 📍 Practical Info 🗺️ Starting Point: Toronto ⏰ Perfect weekend trip (leave early Friday, return Sunday night) 🚗 Easy highway driving #TorontoWeekendGetaway #CountrysideEscape #StratfordON #StJacobsMarket #CheeseLovers #FamilyRoadTrip
