🇨🇦 Across Canada | Winnipeg
Winnipeg is located on the eastern edge of the Prairie Provinces and is the eighth-largest metropolitan area and the sixth-largest city in Canada. It is also the capital of Manitoba, with a current population of 750,000. Here are some must-visit spots: 🏛️ Manitoba Legislative Building A beautiful classical architecture offering free tours in English or French. Photography is allowed, but video recording is not. ⛪ Saint Boniface Cathedral The cathedral was destroyed in a fire, and now only the outer facade remains. The lawn in front of the church is filled with tombstones. Visiting in the afternoon or evening when the sunlight slants across adds a profound sense of history. 🌇 🛒 The Forks Market Cross the footbridge near the cathedral, and you’ll reach The Forks Market. It offers a variety of food and handicrafts. An old train at the entrance makes a great photo spot! 🚂 🏛️ Canadian Museum for Human Rights Also located near the market, the museum features a city sign at its entrance. Its interior is known for its industrial style with steel and glass structures. I didn’t go in due to time constraints. 🏭 Royal Canadian Mint Located on the eastern edge of the city, it is one of only two mints in Canada. Entry requires a ticket, and I didn’t have time to visit. 🪑 Centre of Canada Park A must-stop for road sign lovers—this one is the most picturesque! Check the map carefully, as it’s easy to miss the small turn-off from the main road. A large sign displays its coordinates, and two giant red chairs make for great photos. 📸 🌻 Sunflower Field A summer highlight in Winnipeg! Google Maps will lead you to a gravel road—yes, that’s the one, so keep driving confidently. The field is vast, and entry is free (unlike Vancouver where you have to pay—what a steal!). It’s a perfect spot for photos. 🌞 🛣️ Welcome Signs And of course, don’t forget to snap photos with the “Welcome to Manitoba” and “Welcome to Ontario” signs—a road trip tradition! #CanadianLife #CanadaRoadTrip #CrossCanada #Canada #Winnipeg #WinnipegLife #NorthAmericaRoadTrip #TravelCanada #ExploreCanada #SelfDriveUSA 🇨🇦🚗✨
