🇨🇦 Birdwatching Paradise at Point Pelee National Park 🦅

💕 May 1-19 marks the annual Festival of Birds! This long weekend was packed - the visitor center parking overflowed, but we found plenty of lakeside spots 🅿️. A quick 5-minute walk to the shuttle stop (runs every 15 mins) takes you to the iconic Tip of Canada. Warning: Beach photos may result in wet shoes from the wind-whipped waves! 🌊 💕 The observation tower offers breathtaking views, especially for spotting eagles circling above the forest. Pro tip: Bring high-powered binoculars for the best experience! 🔭 💕 Don't miss the Marsh Boardwalk where beaver families play among the reeds - utterly adorable wildlife watching! 🦫 💕 The tower itself hosts nesting songbirds - perfect for close-up photography 🐦. We visited as leaves were sprouting (making birds harder to spot), so aim for early spring when branches are bare. With 300+ migratory species, this is Canada's birding hotspot! Planning Tip: • Book early! Festival tickets (available from February) sell out fast • Reserve one of the park's charming cabins for overnight stays - ideal for dawn/dusk birding • No cabin? Try camping at nearby Wheatley Provincial Park • Bonus: Collect photos of 100 species to earn a special badge! 📸 🌿 Leamington Side Trips: • Explore the "Tomato Capital of Canada"'s greenhouse farms • Photograph stunning canola fields (respect private property!) • Relax at Seacliff Park's beach volleyball courts • Don't miss Chuck's Roadhouse deal: $25 steak🥩+lobster🦞! • Windsor fishing: Though we struck out on whitefish this trip, the lakeside angler lineup was impressive! #PointPelee #NationalParks #Canada #DayTripsFromTO #LongWeekend #FishingLife #Birdwatching #NaturePhotography #MigrationSeason #OntarioAdventures #WildlifeWatching #SpringInCanada
