🇨🇦 Cherry Picking at MATHIAS FARMS 🍒 | An Overflowing Harvest!

📍 MATHIAS FARMS 1909 EFFINGHAM STREET, RIDGEVILLE, ON *(Originally planned to visit Weiland's Cherry Farm, but staff mentioned their trees were nearly picked over—only small/medium baskets available. Peeking inside, the cherries looked sparse and pale. Switched to Mathias Farms just 3 mins away, where roadside trees were loaded with ruby-red cherries!)* 💰 Pricing (No Entry Fee) Small (2L): $18 Medium (3L): $27 Large (5L): $45 Price includes basket. Sold by size (not weight)—avoid overfilling! 🌳 Farm Experience Less crowded than Weiland’s, with abundant trees heavy with fruit. Low-hanging cherries everywhere + ladders provided for higher branches. Staff advised against eating while picking (pesticides), but some visitors snacked anyway. Took us 1 hour to fill a large basket (P2)—strolling slowly, sticking to shade. 🍒 Cherry Report (Season: June 24–July 24) Only red cherries for picking (dark-red = sweetest!). Yellow cherries sold pre-picked (1L for $13.50). Sampled at entry: Sweet-tart, leaning sweet—ours tasted better than grocery-store ones! Trees were 90% ripe, minimal rotten fruit. Not huge, but insanely plentiful. #CherryOverload #PickYourOwn #TorontoCherries #SummerHarvest #UTorontoDayTrips
