π¨π¦ Food Review No.17: Must-Try Japanese Restaurant in Nanaimo
This is my go-to Japanese spot every time Iβm in Nanaimo! The ingredients are super fresh, and their lunch Tei-Shoku offers great value β a main dish comes with a California roll, salad, miso soup, gyoza, tempura shrimp, and a spring roll (except the spring roll was a bit dry and too salty for my taste π«’, everything else was perfect!). Their salmon is wild-caught! π Sashimi & Sushi Platter Three thick slices each of salmon and tuna sashimi β incredibly fresh, sweet, and satisfyingly textured. Plus three nigiri (salmon and tuna). I always order this along with another dish. Rating: πππππ Aburi Oshisushi Pressed sushi with salmon and tuna, lightly torched for a smoky aroma. The avocado inside adds richness, though the portion is a bit small. Rating: ππππ Pacific Poke Bowl π₯ I absolutely love their poke bowl! Packed with ingredients: salmon, tuna, lettuce, pea sprouts, avocado, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, seaweed flakes, seaweed salad, tempura crunch, and mango (so refreshing and balances the richness!). Rating: πππππ Aburi Nigiri Sushi Six pieces of torched nigiri β shrimp, salmon, and tuna (two each), served with sauce and chili peppers. Pretty standard but good. Rating: πππβ¨ (3.5) Unagi Don π± Grilled eel rice bowl β the eel is thick and glazed with a sweet savory sauce. Absolutely delicious, though the portion is large and can get rich after a while. Rating: ππππ PS: Their last call for lunch is at 2:30 PM β they wonβt seat you after that! β οΈ Nori Japanese Restaurant Mon-Sun: 11:00-3:00, 4:30-9:00 6750 N Island Hwy, Nanaimo, BC V9V 1S3 #JapaneseCuisine #VancouverIsland #NanaimoFood #VancouverIslandEats #Victoria #SushiLovers #FoodReview #HiddenGem #GlobalCuisine π£ππ±
