🇨🇦 Halifax: A City That Never Stopped Surprising Me

Flew all the way across Canada from Victoria to Halifax... ✈️ The best part was the breathtaking view from the plane—archipelagos, snow-capped mountains 🏔️, grasslands, sunset, and sunrise—all seamlessly transitioning. It was fascinating to see the changing landscapes of Canada. The only downside was the exhaustion 😵: a 4-hour time difference, a sleepless first night, followed by coffee-induced motion sickness on the bus, and finally throwing up downtown. Definitely a rough start! But today’s weather was absolutely perfect ☀️. The waterfront was bustling with all kinds of boats, making it a great spot for photos 📸. This city kept surprising me at every turn. I didn’t have high expectations before coming, but from its history and scenery to the beautiful villas, everything felt unique. It’s truly a city worth visiting! ❤️❤️❤️ 🌊 Waterfront: Perfect for photos on a sunny day. I loved relaxing on the lounge chairs by the sea, feeling the breeze and watching the boats 🛥️. There are plenty of restaurants nearby—grabbing a meal or a drink outdoors is highly recommended! For just $2.75, you can take a ferry to the other side of the harbor ⛴️. 🛳️ Maritime Museum of the Atlantic: Showcases Halifax’s maritime history with models and introductions of famous ships. The models were so detailed and beautiful—it’s hard to imagine how impressive the real ships must have been! Great for history and nautical enthusiasts. 🎨 Art Gallery of Nova Scotia: Beyond my expectations! It has both North and South galleries. The basement features an exhibition where you need a flashlight to view the artworks—so fun! I also loved the cute paintings by a local artist. 🏰 Halifax Citadel National Historic Site: Learn about Halifax’s history while enjoying a panoramic view of the city from the hilltop. 🌸 Public Gardens: A unique garden where I saw flowers I’d never encountered before. There’s even a pond with a Titanic model! Definitely worth a visit. 🌫️ Peggy’s Cove: I debated whether to go but finally asked Ambassatours for a tour. One quote was $92, another $77 for the same 4-hour tour (2 hours round-trip transportation). If you plan to go, make sure to clarify the price to avoid being overcharged! 🍝 The Bicycle Thief: Tried the lobster pasta—pretty good! 🦞 🥐 SALTY’S: Ordered a lobster roll—the lobster meat was minced and served in a croissant. It got a bit rich after a while, but I paired it with a Sour Apple & Pear Martini 🍸, which was refreshing and cut through the richness. Highly recommend this drink—especially for girls! #Halifax #SoloTravel #ExploreCanada #EastCoastVibes #TravelDiary 🌊📸❤️
