🇨🇦 How is Montreal This Delicious?!
Whispering… I think it’s even better than Paris 😳 Here’s my 7-day food journey: 👏 Mon Lapin Ranked #2 on Canada’s Top 100. Booked a week ahead — only got a 9 PM slot. Cozy wine bar vibe. Celery + sea urchin = wild combo. Scallop sandwich was crispy outside, tender inside. Clams in garlic broth 🤤, pigeon was juicy. Amazing Riesling too! 👏 Parapluie My friend’s #1 in MTL. No reso — went right at opening and got lucky! Salmon with mustard = perfection. Usually skip beef tartare, but theirs was great. Lobster + egg yolk = rich goodness. Scallops + cauliflower in garlic cream sauce = 10/10. That cauliflower though! 🔥 👏 Monarque Classic French with layered flavors (almost herbal?). Skip the snail bone marrow (overhyped) but duck confit, foie gras terrine, and seafood soup = 💯 👏 Pichai Unexpectedly incredible Thai! Was skeptical but wow — spicy, tangy, perfect for summer. Raw scallops, pork neck, duck salad = all ⭐️. Shaved ice dessert beat the viral Thai tea tiramisu. 👏 Ratafia Dreamy dessert bar (savory options too). Raspberry + radish dessert = refreshing surprise. Cocktails were meh. 👏 La Panzeria Focaccia + fresh ham + fig + burrata + olive oil + honey = can’t go wrong. Sunday pasta = optional. 👏 Le Passé Composé Went for the foie gras Benedict — lived up to the hype! Waffle was great too. 👏 Crêperie du Marché Yummy crêpes inside Jean-Talon Market (which is worth visiting alone!). 👌 La Banquise Poutine landmark — generous toppings. Not a poutine fan but enjoyed it. 👌 Gibbys Only letdown. Good steak but not special. Lunch menu > dinner. 👌 Schwartz’s Like Katz’s in NYC. Sandwich was dry for me, but friend loved their poutine. Order delivery — skip the line. 👏 St-Viateur Who knew Montreal’s other specialty was bagels? Sweeter, denser, fragrant. Even I loved the sesame — and I usually don’t! #Montreal #MontrealFood #Foodie #EatLikeALocal #FoodReview #BestOfMTL 🍽️✨
