🇨🇦 Kingston Food Guide | What to Eat in a "Food Desert"

This post feels pretty Southeast Asian-focused—let’s dive in! ✅ Thai House Cuisine A downtown Thai spot that was closed for dine-in for a while, but finally reopened! My food buddy and I headed there right away. I originally wanted mango sticky rice, but mangoes are seasonal, so it wasn’t available 😢. We tried their fried bananas instead, which were okay—not too sweet for me, but probably on the sweeter side for others, haha. Their pad thai was delicious—slightly tangy, but in a good way. The curry was rich and fragrant, perfect with rice, and the beef inside was tender (no tough bites!) with all lean meat. The chicken satay was just average, nothing special. Overall, highly recommend their fried noodles and curry! ✅ Apsara Angkor Cuisine A lakeside Thai restaurant—solidly good. The mango sticky rice was decent but a bit too sweet with loads of coconut milk. The coconut shrimp, though? Total MVP 🏆. ✅ Pho Chopstix Pretty standard pho—nothing to write home about. Not as good as Mekong, in my opinion. ✅ Sens Cafe A lakeside coffee shop with amazing coffee and tea, plus such a cozy vibe ☕. It’s super popular for studying—packed with people, but everyone’s either working or hitting the books. They also have small desserts and sandwiches. On a nice day, it’s perfect for a weekend hang with friends—so relaxing! #Canada #CanadianLife #StudyingInCanada #CanadaFoodTour #KingstonCanada #kingston #KingstonFood #QueensUniversity
