🇨🇦 Montreal | I Visited This City for These Sights
This was our second time in Montreal, and we made it to all the places we wanted to see~ Here’s our must-visit list! ฅ՞••՞ฅ 📍 Notre-Dame Basilica Book light show tickets on the official website. Two shows daily: 6:00 PM & 8:00 PM. Doors open 30 mins before—arrive early to snag a good seat! We recommend sitting in the middle under the second dome for the best view. Sitting too close might strain your neck. After the show, you get 30 mins to explore and take photos 📸. Note: No photos or videos during the light show! 📍 Underground City (RÉSO) Nothing super special, but it’s a warm, free, indoor spot great for winter photos ❄️. We stayed at the Intercontinental inside—super convenient for walking to Notre-Dame and the Old Port. 📍 Old Port (Vieux-Port) The pedestrian street is long with beautiful European-style architecture. Shops open by afternoon. Parking is a hassle—better to walk! Don’t miss Crew Collective & Café—a stunning café in a converted historic bank. The interior is gorgeous! 🏦✨ 📍 Monarque 🍽️ Great ambiance right next to our hotel. Even for a picky Asian food lover like me, it was a nice experience! 📍 Boqueria 🍽️ Absolutely delicious—we cleaned our plates! 🍴 Went after the Archaeology Museum around 4 PM—no wait, but it filled up quickly after. 📍 Mount Royal You must go to the summit! The lookout offers breathtaking views 🏞️. We parked at the closest lot (plenty of space) and walked ~10 mins up. Also visited St. Joseph’s Oratory—the largest Catholic church in North America ⛪️. 📍 Biodôme Five ecosystems under one roof: Tropical Forest, Gulf, Laurentian Forest, Labrador Coast, and Sub-Antarctic Islands 🐧🌿. Perfect for animal lovers! Grab a map at the entrance and download the Space for Life app for Bluetooth audio guides about the plants and animals around you. Open 9 AM–5 PM. One ticket covers all exhibits. Book online to skip lines! Parking is pricey—consider visiting the Planetarium next door if you have time. 📍 Archaeology Museum Honestly, skip this and go to the Fine Arts Museum instead 🖼️. This one even displays individual corn kernels as exhibits… Not worth the ticket price 🥲. #Montreal #TravelDiary #WinterTravel #CityExploration #WorldTour #ChristmasVibes #CityWalk #MontrealSights #WinterGetaway #CameraLove 📷❄️
