🇨🇦 Must-Visit "Jelly Water" in Toronto's Summer

🇨🇦 Must-Visit "Jelly Water" in Toronto's Summer A few days ago, we drove to Bruce Peninsula & Flowerpot Island—about 4 hours from Oakville—and wow, the legendary "jelly water" did NOT disappoint! 🌊💙 While there are tons of guides online, here are the key takeaways from our trip: 1. Parking 🚗 • Bruce National Park parking passes MUST be booked in advance! (Summer = high demand, slots sell out fast.) • Your pass includes park admission—scan the code at the gate to get a green parking card + pink barcode for the second checkpoint. • The park is huge with 6 parking lots, each near different trails. We headed straight to The Grotto (20-30 min hike from the lot). 2. Clothing 👕 • Mosquito alert! 🦟 Leggings are a bad idea—they don’t stop bites (I got 10+ bites through mine!). Opt for thicker pants + bug spray. • Temp is 5-10°C cooler than Toronto—we hit 19°C with rain and froze! ❄️ Pack a warm jacket, long pants, socks, and sneakers (yes, even in summer!). 3. Boat Tickets 🚤 • Book Flowerpot Island ferry tickets ahead (time slots available). We chose the 4-hour drop-off option (explore the island & return). • Pro tip: Bad weather cancels trips—our first booking got axed, but we snagged a next-day slot. • Two ferry companies (Blue & Yellow). We took Blue, which includes a shipwreck tour (30-40 min ride). For best views: Upper deck (left side, facing stern) for full wreck photos 📸 Lower glass-covered deck for close-up details 4. Food 🍽️ • Shipwreck Lee’s: All-you-can-eat fish & chips ($28.80/person) 👍 • Tobermory Brewing Co. & Grill: Great seafood pasta, meh fish & chips. • Pharos: Solid breakfast spot. • Flowerpot Island has NO shops—bring water, snacks, trash bags & swimwear (change right after docking—few restrooms!). 5. Stay 🏡 • We booked a 4-bedroom cottage on Airbnb ($2,100 for 2 nights), 6 mins from the docks. Walkable to restaurants! 6. Extras • Stop by Owen Sound or Orangeville on the way! Verdict: Toronto summers aren’t complete without this "jelly water" paradise! 🌞🏝️ #FlowerpotIsland #BrucePeninsula #TorontoSummer #TravelCanada #JellyWater #RoadTrip
