🇨🇦 My 5 Years in MTL – Food Edition Vol. 1

Here are some of my go-to spots after living in Montreal for half a decade! 🍽️🇨🇦 1️⃣ K2+ 📍 1468 Rue Crescent, Montréal, QC H3G 2B6 Even after moving back to China, I still crave this place! Why? It’s affordable, tasty, and the fish is fresh 🍣 They have everything: sashimi platters, nigiri, aburi (seared), grilled/fried options… As a meat lover, I highly recommend their tender beef short ribs — fall-off-the-bone good! One of the best all-you-can-eat sushi spots in downtown Montreal. 2️⃣ Liuyishou Hotpot 📍 1224 Rue Crescent, Montréal, QC H3G 2A9 Decent hotpot, but if you like it spicy 🌶️, be prepared for possible… consequences 😅 Personally, I prefer Dingku Hotpot for fresher meat and no stomach issues! But Liuyishou has pork intestine, crispy fried pork, sweet rice ball dessert, and silver fungus soup — plus good service. Note: They often make you wait even when tables are free (maybe marketing strategy?). 3️⃣ Yi Shang Ju 📍 8245 Taschereau Blvd Local A15 & A16, Brossard, Quebec J4Y 1A4 Finally, a decent dim sum place on the South Shore! 🥢 No time limit — went at 2 PM and it was still packed. Perfect for late risers 😆 4️⃣ Mon Ami Korean BBQ 📍 1488 Rue Sainte-Catherine O, Montréal, QC H3G 1S8 All-you-can-eat KBBQ right near Concordia University! Fresh meat, stone pot bibimbap, cheesy corn 🌽, free refills on drinks — great value for meat lovers! 5️⃣➕6️⃣ Chong Qing Xiao Guan 📍 5625 Grande Allée, Brossard, QC J4Z 3G3 PERFECT for spice lovers! Their grilled fish and frog hot pot are legendary 🌶️🐟 Unfortunately, temporarily closed due to equipment issues… hope they reopen soon! 7️⃣ Egina BBQ Montreal 📍 2310 Rue Guy, Montréal, QC H3H 2M2 Tried this with friends near Concordia — though called "Mongolian BBQ," it tastes just like Northeast Chinese-style🥩🔥 Flavorful and satisfying! #LifeInCanada #MontrealEats #MTLFoodie #AsianCuisine #EatLikeALocal 🥢🍜
