🇨🇦 Only in Chinatown: $20 Healthy Stone Pot Chestnut Rice Set!

Just realized that 📍Daldongnae has opened in Chinatown! And I noticed something special about this location — Before 5 PM daily, they offer a Lunch Special: a series of healthy stone pot rice sets (see third pic 🖼️). Choose one main dish, paired with stone pot rice (cooked with red beans, black beans, chestnuts 🍠, pumpkin, and chickpeas) + four side dishes. When the sizzling pot arrives, the staff helps scoop out the rice, then pours hot water into the pot to simmer the scorched rice — so you can enjoy the meal first and finish with crispy rice tea (누룽지) later! As for the main dish, pick your fave: Spicy beef soup 🥩, pork bone soup 🍖… the portions are huge and loaded with ingredients. I was so full I couldn’t finish everything — didn’t even have room for the rice tea! This set averages $20 — such great value! 🫡✨ Now, about 📍Project Seoul next door (upstairs)... It’s only been open a month — thought it’d still be a hidden gem. But nope — it’s so popular that even their large space is fully packed! Coffee and drinks are decent, but the staff looked exhausted 🥲 Their cakes are nice! They also offer bingsu ❄️ and croffles. But honestly… it was too crowded — felt like a university club fair. Not the comfiest vibe. Still — Daldongnae’s lunch set is totally worth it for a cozy meal! 📍355 Spadina Ave., Toronto #TorontoFood #KoreanFood
