🇨🇦 Quebec Food Discovery | A Restaurant from 1640!
📍 Bistro 1640 Dining in a 1640s heritage building opposite Château Frontenac! Summer is walk-in only (except stormy days). Arrived at 11:40 AM—breakfast was over, but a 20-min wait scored us a table. Menu in English/French; staff are bilingual. 🍽️ What We Ordered Appetizers: 🍤 Shrimp Mocktail: Fresh, light, with avocado bits. 🥗 Caesar Salad w/ Roasted Chicken: Standard but solid. 🐌 Baked Snails: Fragrant, no weird taste (fried bread on top = oily though). 🧅 French Onion Soup: Meh. Mains: 🍤 Seafood Pasta: Piled with shrimp, mussels, and linguine! 🐂 Braised Beef Jowl: 8-hour slow-cooked—tender AF! Served with mash & veggies (even leafy broccoli 😆). 🍔 Classic Burger: Literally classic—ketchup/mustard + mayo-dipped fries. Drink: 🍹 "Recolte" mocktail (one of only two options)—way too sweet (diluted with water to survive). Verdict: Huge portions, no major flops. Vibe: 1900s French tunes + spotless bathrooms 😂. #QuebecEats #HistoricRestaurant #FoodieFind #FrenchCanadianCuisine
