🇨🇦 This Persian Kebab Spot in North Van is Totally Worth It
The other day, while out buying flowers, I decided to grab a bite in North Vancouver. As someone who loves exploring exotic cuisines, stumbling upon this Persian restaurant with a stellar 4.7 Google rating (1,700+ reviews!) was an instant must-try. The moment I stepped in, the aroma of cumin, chili, and lamb skewers hit me—like a bustling night market vibe—mixed with all kinds of unfamiliar spices. So exciting! I tried the Plum Stewed Chicken (highly recommended on Reddit)—so tender the bones practically melted. The kebab portions here are massive; if you’re a light eater, one kebab + a small side is more than enough. Every table gets a free giant face-sized flatbread, perfect with their dip appetizers. But the real shocker? Candied garlic in the kebab platter! I immediately asked the server for two extra servings. 🍴 Restaurant: Akbar joojeh 19th | اکبرجوجه 📍 Address: 1857 Lonsdale Ave, North Vancouver, BC V7M 2J9 🫡 Dish Reviews: Beef and Lamb Kebab (couldn’t find the English name, but OMG—insanely good!). A skewer longer than your arm is enough for two. Loaded with cumin and chili, perfectly seasoned (not too salty!). Came with enough rice to feed a small army—had to take half home. 😂 Chicken with Plum Stew: A must for sour-flavor lovers! The meat falls apart effortlessly, but it’s rich—best shared unless you’re into food comas. Fried Eggplant Dip: Paired with the free flatbread. Topped with mysterious spices (only recognized the onions…). Dalal Yogurt Drink: Super tangy, salty, spiced yogurt—proceed with caution! It’s palate-cleansing but would’ve been better sweet. #Vancouver #VancouverLife #VancouverFoodie #ExploreVancouver #NorthVan #NorthVanEats #FoodShare
