I never knew Canada had its own version of the Danxia landforms until a friend brought me to the Cheltenham Badlands! Remember learning about these in geography class? These striking red shale formations date back over 450 million years to the Ordovician period and were shaped by erosion—a truly rare sight. 🪨🌍 🚗 How to Get There Just about an hour’s drive from Toronto! 📍 Navigate to: 1739 Olde Base Line Road, Caledon or search Cheltenham Badlands Parking ⏰ Opening Period 📅 Open annually from May 21 to around November 20 🎟️ Admission Weekdays: $10 per vehicle Weekends: $20 per vehicle *(Price is per parking spot. Includes 90-min visit)* 👉 It’s best to book your parking online in advance! You can also pay extra for a 3-hour slot, but 90 minutes is more than enough to explore. 💡 Rumor has it that admission is free on long weekends—we didn’t test this, but maybe you can! 🌟 Must-See Spots Badlands Lookout Trail: Short and sweet—perfect for photos! 📸 Bruce Trail: Great if you’re up for a slightly longer hike. 🥾 📍 Extended Itinerary If you’re not in a rush: Head to Orangeville after (just 25 mins away) Then spend a day exploring Elora—another gorgeous nearby town! ⚠️ Tips The red soil STAINS! 👟 Wear shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. The area isn’t huge—you can walk the trails and take photos in 1-2 hours. Perfect for a relaxed weekend escape when you just want something quick, easy, and Instagram-worthy! 😉 #CanadianLife #ExploreToronto #TorontoDayTrip #OntarioTravel #NatureLovers #RoadTripCanada #CheltenhamBadlands #TravelCanada #TorontoLife 🍁✨
