🇨🇦 Vancouver Surroundings | Truly Stunning Glacial Lakes of BC
Joffre Lakes Park 📍 Duffey Lake Road, Mount Currie, BC Just a 3-hour drive from Vancouver, take Highway 99 all the way. Hiking Tips: Joffre Lake can be divided into three main lakes: 1️⃣ Lower Lake is the closest to the road. It's about a 10-minute walk from the parking lot. If you're visiting with older adults or children, this spot is great for a quick visit and some photos. 📸 2️⃣ Middle Lake is the largest of the three lakes and is a popular spot for those Instagram-worthy photos. Standing in the water with tree branches in the frame is a classic shot here. The entire hike takes about 1.5 hours. While some sections are steep, most of the trail is easy and safe, with fantastic views along the way. 🏞️ 3️⃣ Upper Lake is the closest lake to the snow-capped peaks. The lake’s proximity to the mountains is breathtaking. There are lots of loose rocks around the lake. The hike from Middle Lake to Upper Lake takes about 30 minutes, and you'll encounter beautiful snowy waterfalls along the way. ❄️🏔️ ⚠️ Reservations: During peak seasons, make sure to book in advance! Reserve your spot 2 days ahead on the BC Parks website or search for "Joffre Lakes Day Pass." The booking opens at 7 AM sharp, so be quick! 🕖 ⚠️ Each person can only book up to 4 passes. Park staff will check tickets at the entrance. To manage crowds, you can't enter without a pass. However, it's rumored that after 3 PM, you might still get in without a pass once the staff leaves. ⏳ ⚠️ The total hiking time for a round trip is about 5-6 hours. Bring plenty of water and snacks. Special equipment is not necessary. There are basic restrooms near each lake, so try to limit your water intake if you're not comfortable with the facilities. 🚽🥤 #HikingSnapshots #TravelInspiration #MustVisitBC #CanadaTravelGuide #Vancouver #StudyAbroadStories #TravelTips #RoadTrip #ScenicGetaways #RomanticLifeExplorer
