Island Visit Advice: DO NOT JOIN TOURS!!! This was literally a "through-the-window" experience... Departed at 8:30 AM β†’ arrived in Victoria by ferry at 12:30 PM β†’ driver circled the island β†’ gave only 2 hours to explore (due to Butchart Gardens schedule) β†’ spent 1 hour eating + 30 minutes finding food. BTW, the brunch was decent though~ So… zero time to visit Canada’s oldest Chinatown, try ice cream, go axe throwing πŸͺ“, or whale watching πŸ³β€¦ Moral: Take the ferry yourself and stay at least 2 days to truly enjoy the island! A rushed tour = just checking a box. The silver lining: The sea views were stunning! 🌊 The ferry was huge with 3 decks β€” top level is perfect for ocean gazing. But it was rainy and cloudy during our trip last week β˜”πŸ˜…. The ferry sells coffee, burgers, souvenirs β€” nice for killing time. On the return trip to Vancouver, the sky cleared up β€” and we were rewarded with Vancouver’s most beautiful sunset πŸŒ‡!
